Welcome back everyone! I haven't posted any new greeting cards lately, so I thought that today would be a great to do just that. Here is a new one that I just recently made. Here is a greeting card for National Beaver Day. National Beaver day is a holiday celebrated in Canada on the last Friday in February. It is a day to celebrate one of their national symbols. Since I have been working with beavers for quite a while now, I thought that this holiday was fitting to be the next card that I made.
Stay tuned for another greeting card to be posted soon and so much more coming in the near future. If you haven't had a chance yet stop by the official Facebook page and "Like" us. Howdy everyone! Greetings everybody! Welcome back! I have finished my mentorship piece, "The Skilled Hunter". Since the last post I really went into the piece and pushed the contrast of the piece. The sky has become immensely darker so that the light from the fire can be seen more clearly. I also went into the shadows on the giants and made them deeper. This way they look more three dimensional and look more realistic with the light from the fire. Finally I darkened up the foreground. The shadows on the stones, the ground and the closest shrubs are now closer to realistic. I really enjoyed working on this piece and am very pleased with how it turned out. This piece will be on display at the Senior Show & Celebration at the Pennsylvania College of Art & Design on May 3rd. This will also be the city of Lancaster's First Friday. If you love looking at art, this is an even that you can't miss. All of the galleries in Lancaster will be showing new shows starting that night. The Senior Show & Celebration begins at 5 o'clock. The whole college will be turned into a gallery and all of the floors will be open until 8 o'clock with the main gallery remaining open until 9 o'clock. If you are in the area be sure to stop by and say hello.
Hello again! I am almost done with my mentorship. I have everything inked, now I just need to go in and do some small tweaks and additions and then it will be done. I have to go in and define some edges while darkening up some aspects to make some things pop while others fade. I am also going to darken parts of the sky to give it a better feeling of the light from the fire and how dark the night is. Can't wait to see what it looks like when it is finished! Check back soon for the finished work and the finished and reworks for my Senior Thesis!
Hello Everyone! I continue to work on my mentorship, "The Skilled Hunter" with Socar Myles. Here is where I am right now. Since last time I have finished the background trees, the foreground rocks, added in one of the large bushes in the foreground and have finished with the fire. I also took some time to darken up the sky. It is coming along nicely, but still has a ways to go. Check back soon for more updates!
Good morning everyone! I am now starting my final piece for Senior Thesis. This piece will be for Edgar Allan Poe's "The System of Dr. Tarr and Prof. Fether". This piece will be one of my most complicated pieces to date. Well, it will at least be the piece with the most people in it that I have ever done. It looks like this is going to be an interesting one. Between the musicians who are playing in weird places to the lady who thinks she is a chicken, how could this be anything but a fun piece to work on. If you have never read this tale by Edgar Allan Poe you can find it at: http://poestories.com/read/systemoftarr Here is the value study for this piece and all appears to be coming together. Now it is time to start doing the final ink work on the piece. Check back soon for more information on "The System of Dr. Tarr and Prof. Fether" and my mentorship.
