Back on I mentioned that I would be making a piece that is meant to depict Edgar Allan Poe's The Masque of the Red Death. Here is an update on the progress. I have most of the ink work done but still have a bit of work to do. I have finished the large curtain and Prince Prospero. But I still need to add all of the dead people and finish the ink work on the Red death and the midground. I am very happy with the way that the Prince turned out. In order to help out with the ink work on it, I referenced the faces of Virgil Finlay. Very helpful to see how a master handled faces and skin. Check back later in the week for the finished ink work and the finished colored piece. Will be posted by Thursday Dec 13th, if not sooner.
